Turk's Cap Lily (Lilium michiganese) Also known as Tiger Lily, Canada Lily, is one of the more spectacular species found throughout the Tallgrass region.

L. michiganense can grow to 6 or 7 feet under ideal conditions. Large, brilliant flowers orange-red in color are up 4 inches across. leaves average less than 6 inches long and occur in whorls along the stem. It is found in prairie swales, moist ditches and open lowland woods. Blooms from July through August.
Although other Lilium species were used medicinally, no medicinal uses or food uses are reported for L. michiganense.
